February 2013: Introducing Lucas!! (Picture OVERLOAD!!)

Warning, these next few pictures truly reflect how I was super lazy up to the delivery of the baby.  Just so you all know...
There is a story behind this picture... My little sister Becca came and stayed with us for about a month, while I was on bed rest.  It worked out really well, because while Bec was at school during the day, Mike was home.  He would leave for work, and I would only have to do Madi for a few hours before Becca would come back from school and be there while Mike was at work.
One day, Becca asked me to help her do some of her laundry.  I had washed and folded it.  Madi was able to get into the basket, and pulled out some of her underwear.  She decided to put it on, and walked around for like a half hour with it on.  It was super funny!
But, I am so grateful for Becca and all the help that she provided me that month leading up to the delivery.  I could not have done it without her!

I promise I feed my daughter... :)

We went to the hospital on Sunday night, February 3, 2013. We checked in at about 8pm.

We were very excited!

They gave me a cervix ripen-er, hoping to get the process going.  We were crossing our fingers that it would do the trick.

Peter and Lizzie came with Mom to hang out as we waited... Peter did the same thing when Madi was born. He insisted that we are not allowed to have any kids while he is on his mission, because he won't be there to hang out with until the birth. :)  He is funny...

This picture was taken at about 7:30 pm, MONDAY February 4, 2013.  I had been at the hospital for almost 24 hours... Blah!

Within ten minutes, I had dilated to a ten, and Lucas was ready to come!  Dr. Young got there just in time, and I only had to push a couple of times before he came out!  I hardly tore at all, and it was almost as easy as delivering Madi.  Lucas was covered in tons of white mucus stuff, but was otherwise healthy!

Our little guys was 7 pounds, 11 ounces, and 19 1/2 inches long.  He was born at 7:57 pm... Just under 24 hours!

Skin to skin is the best!!!!  Loved it!!!

Such a proud daddy!!

Our newest addition to our family:  Lucas Michael Robbins

Grandpa Buhler with Lucas

Grandma Buhler was crying the whole time... :)

Uncle Bryce loving on Lucas

Uncle Sam enjoying Lucas time

Peter, super glad that Lucas decided to come before he left for his mission.

Lizzie had taken Anatomy, so we let her watch the birth.  She handled it like a champ!

Proud Auntie Becca!

Jeffrey holding Lucas, which doesn't happen very much anymore.  He's "too cool" to hold a baby... :) (Teenagers...)

Danny being so loving and affectionate with Lucas

Grandma and Grandpa Robbins came that night as well.  They drove all the way from Springville! :)

Dave and his family just happened to be in Pleasant Grove around the time I delivered, so they stopped by to visit.  It was very good for London to practice, for Lindsey was due two weeks later!

They then took Lucas and gave him a bath and cleaned him up, as I switched rooms.

All nice and clean!! :)

Our precious baby boy!

Madi meeting Lucas for the first time.

Ohhhhhh!!!

Doesn't quite know what to think... :)

Practicing being soft...

Grandma Great and Grandma Robbins stopped by again.

Ready to go home!

Dressed and ready to go home!

Of course he didn't want to leave the hospital.. :)

All snug in his car seat!

This was a very common sight at our house... My boys sleeping!

For the first few days, Lucas' bilirubin levels were off.  He had to be on the lights, which he did not like at all!  He hardly slept while on them!  But after a few days, his levels were back to normal, thank goodness!

Getting ready for his first bath with Grandma Buhler!

Notice Madi's legs in the picture?  She insisted on being right there on the counter, not missing anything!  She had to know what was going on at all times! :)

His bath ended up not being his favorite thing... :)

All clean!

Now I have some random pics from the rest of the month:

Madi would often times lay on her chair like this... To each his own I guess! :)

Lucas wore this outfit when we dropped Peter off at the MTC.  We thought it was fitting!  It has an alligator, and the print says "See you later..."

Dropping Peter off at the MTC.  He will be the 6th missionary from our family (that's including my dad, and Mike).  He is going to do great!

We were finally able to get piggy tails in Madi's hair!  Yay!

We bought this bouncer for Lucas, but more often then not, we would find Madi in it!  Silly girl!!

Having some tummy time.  Again, not his favorite thing... :)

For the first few weeks that we brought Lucas home, Madi didn't want anything to do with him.  She would pretty much ignore him.  After a couple of weeks, she finally started showing an interest.  This picture is of a time that she wanted to hold him.  So cute!

This picture is of a time I found them "talking" to each other.  Adorable!

My cousin-in-law Kim took these pics of Lucas in the hospital.  I loved them!  He looks so peaceful a his sleeps!

We had the blessing of a lady in my parent's ward offering to do newborn pictures of Lucas.  She had just been to a photography conference, and wanted to practice some techniques.  She did such a great job, and we highly recommend her!

We asked her to take this picture of our future missionary, to send to Peter, to show him what a great example he was being!  It turned out so cute!  We were able to use Mike's missionary tag.  So special!

We have had a crazy month, full of changes!  We are so blessed to be able to further along Heavenly Father's great plan of happiness, and bring these sweet spirits to the earth.  We know without a doubt that families are forever, and we are so grateful for that knowledge!
Love to all!
